On watching this video you will notice the two basic ideas of our film openings. After the feedback given on these pitches we have decided to go with Idea one. This is the idea which is given by me at the beginning of the pitch. In this idea there will be cross-cutting between two different characters, preferably both male, in which one will be walking down a dark street only lit by street lights as the other is running down stairs in a block of flats or in an empty public place.
The idea is that both of the characters will be heading towards the same place, the audience should be lead to believe that they are against one another and that the scene will end in conflict but they eventually meet up in a greasey spoon cafe. As this is going on the titles will be rolling over the top, they will show the editor, director and the main actors/actresses they will also show the title of the film. The unique selling point for our film will be that it is different and no one has tried to achieve this before.
Our Target audience for the film is primarily males under 35 in social classes C2, D and E and secondarily females under 35 from the same social classes.
The feedback we recieved from the class was positive and has made us want to continue with our idea.

Target Audience Interviews
Here are our interviews from 3 different people that fit our target audience. They help give us more ideas to put in our film opening. We asked them what their favourite action films were and what they liked within action films and why.We found out from these interviews that people enjoy the fighting element and the tension created by Action films. We also found out that people enjoy the element of reality in some Action films, this has gave us ideas for our film opening and shall be used to help make sure we meet what our target audience want. It has not changed our ideas as we already knew that we wanted to create as much tension as possible and try to keep the plot/story line as close to reality as we could.

Target Audience
In this week we have decided on our Target Audience for our
film opening. We have looked at UK Film Counsel statistics and charts to back
up our choices. We have decided to make our Primary audience males aged 15-25
coming from working backgrounds as this is what our research has told us. We
have picked a secondary audience, of female aged 15-25 year olds again from
working backgrounds, as our research has told us that Action/Crime films are
liked and watched by many different people.

After looking the types of film that the public enjoy watching from the data shown on page 105, we have realised that this is a Genre that is favouritzed across a large group of people, being the 4th most popular out of 27, with 50% of people saying this is their favourite Genre.
Out of 1,978 people asked 20% said Action films were their favourite. The main gender and age group for this were males under 35 with 37% of the group being in this age range. Therefore this is why we have chosen these as our primary audience. This also shows the reason we have chosen our secondary audience Female under 35 as they made up 20% of this group. However we feel that our Genre is favouritised over all age groups and both genders.
As you can see from this data chart, 50% of the group previously asked said that they enjoyed watching action films. It is the 5th most popular group in this section which shows us that the Genre is very popular and this gave us reason to make this our genre.
Using this last slide we can analyse just who our main target audience should be. It shows us that our primary audience again should be Male under 35's with 57% of the group being this age and saying they enjoyed watching Action films. Again this slide shows us that Female under 35 also enjoy watching Action. However this slide also shows us that all age ranges and both genders enjoy watching Action films. Looking at this chart it also does not make a difference as to whether they are parents or not as there is next to no difference between parents and non-parents. This chart also shows that we should be aiming our Film opening at social classes C2 , D and E.
Looking at www.the-numbers.com you can see that again Action films are popular. They are the first 5 top rated recent releases and an Action film appears in the All-time top rated movies too. This has shown us that Action films are greatly popular. This has backed up our choice of doing an opening for an Action film.
These statistics gave us a wide range of people to aim our film opening at. These statistics are one of the main reasons we chose our Target Audience. Our end Target audience is primarily Males under 35 in social classes C2, D and E meaning they have employment such as skilled and semi-skilled work and students/unemployment. We have then chosen Females under 35 from the same social classes.

Changes to my ideas.
I have made some changes to my ideas after looking at teenage demographics. I have decided to add more Action into my film idea. This change in our ideas has come from looking at the UK Film Council statistics and deciding more people will prefer an Action film.
